The “whodunit” musical comedy Murder For Two has been extended a second time, through August 25, at off-Broadway’s Second Stage Uptown. Originally scheduled to run through August 10, the production is currently playing at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre. Directed by Scott Schwartz, Murder For Two stars Jeff Blumenkrantz and Brett Ryback.
Featuring a book by Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair, music by Kinosian and lyrics by Blair, Murder For Two combines classic musical comedy with a dash of Agatha Christie. Everyone is a suspect in this house of eccentric characters unfazed by the dead body on the floor. But this whodunit comes with a killer twist: one actor (Ryback) investigates the crime, while the other (Blumenkrantz) plays all 13 suspects. Plus, they both play the piano!
The creative team for Murder For Two includes set designer Beowulf Boritt, costume designer Andrea Laurer, lighting designer Jason Lyons and sound designer Jill BC DuBoff.
